Staff Biographies

Pastor Brad Paik - Senior Pastor

Brad is the Senior Pastor of New Community Presbyterian Church, serving at NCPC since its inception in 1998. One of Pastor Brad's passions is to counsel and help people resolve personal background issues, including the philosophical dilemma that exists with the clashing world-views. He is also passionate about evangelizing to the un-churched through compassion and apologetics. He, his wife Sue, and his two children welcome the opportunity to spread God’s grace to the community of the city of Chicago and the greater Chicago area.

Pastor John Sung - Executive Pastor

John is NCPC's Executive Pastor and has been on staff since February of 2002. His driving passion in ministry is to see the Church be what God had intended it to be. Out of this passion stems a love for God’s Word as it reveals God’s plan for His Church and for this world. Pastor John’s desire is to follow God in creating a community founded on His grace, in which the truths of Scripture are the very life of the Church. He, his wife Roni, and his daughter Kara find it a blessing and privilege to be part of the NCPC community where people seek truth and desire to live it out. Along with taking part in the community of NCPC, Pastor John loves working with his hands, enjoys the peace of being on the lake while fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Pastor Chad Pirotte - Pastor of Community (Chicago Campus)

Chad came to Chicago for Seminary in '02 and became pastor of community at NCPC in '03. The rest of his life was spent in the great state of Kansas, a land flowing with milk, honey, and BBQ. Chad has a lot of loves in his life. In terms of faith, he loves Jesus Christ and the freedom given through his sacrifice. He loves studying the Bible and reading theological books (not the fluffy stuff you see in Christian book stores, but the deeply substantial stuff you can only get online these days, or at the seminary bookstore).  He loves getting others to understand God through deeper revelations.  He loves golf, softball, ultimate, disc golf, volleyball, grilling, and just being outside. He loves Dr. Pepper, which is simultaneously a heavenly delight and a contributor to his depravity. He loves pizza, preferably NY style and he loves to experiment with cooking when he has the time. Last, but certainly not the last on his list of loves, is his adoration for Gloria (wife) and Kelissa (daughter). Both of them fill him with a lot of joy, laughter, and depth, even on the dreary days.

Dr. David Rim - Preaching Pastor

David has been serving as Teaching Pastor since September of 2010. While he has been at NCPC for a relatively short time, he feels that his family has found a place they can call home. He is married to Maria, and has twin daughters, Rachel and Katie – and yes, Boo Boo, the family dog, who can never be left out. When he is not involved in church ministries or busy with the family, he teaches in the theology department at Moody Bible Institute.

Pastor Frank Cho - Pastor of Worship and Community (Suburban Campus)

Frank has been with NCPC since the Suburban Campus was formed in the spring of 2008, currently serving as pastor of both Worship and Community.  From the moment that visitors, friends, and members enter through our doors on a Sunday morning, it is his desire that people connect with God on every level of worship.  He sees that each person has a distinct role when the church gathers.  We come into church as participants, not as spectators.  Whether during a Sunday worship or through a community group, he hopes that we'd experience God in a relevant way as we share our lives together.  Frank has been married to his wife, Linda, since April of 2004. They have two children, Ethan and Jayden.  It is their sincere desire to enjoy the grace of God, and share it with the lost and broken of this world.

Gloria Pirotte - Minister of Worship (Chicago Campus)

Gloria has been on staff as Minister of Worship since 2004. She longs to see the community at NCPC worship in spirit and truth - not only on Sundays but also in the whole of their every day lives. During her college years, Gloria developed a great passion for people while serving with Campus Crusade for Christ. This passion eventually led her to spend a year in Xi’an, China, teaching English and sharing the Gospel with university students on campus. From there, God brought Gloria back to Chicago where she taught English at Walter Payton College Prep for 5 years until God called her to vocational ministry at NCPC. She has been serving on staff ever since. Gloria met her husband Chad at NCPC and married in June 2006. In July of 2009, they were blessed with their daughter Kelissa. Aside from spending time with her family and learning more about the one definite thing we'll be doing for all eternity - worshiping God - Glo loves going to concerts, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.

Pastor Andrea Kier - Pastor of Children’s Ministry (Chicago Campus)

Andrea has served as Pastor of Children’s Ministry at the Chicago Campus since June of 2009. Andrea was raised in the small town of Grand Ledge Michigan. Her desire to study at the Moody Bible Institute is what brought her to the great city of Chicago! It is Andrea’s vision to see the children of the church be brought up knowing and loving the truth of God and His life transforming Word, also to train them to be the future leaders of the Church. She believes this can be done through creative Bible teaching, loving with Christ’s love, involving the kids in serving the body of Christ, showing the kids that living for God is fun, and by building a network of volunteers, teachers and parents to pour into the lives of children to influence them for the Kingdom of God. Besides loving kids Andrea enjoys meeting new people, hanging out with friends, spending time with family, watching movies, swimming, and being spontaneous!

Pastor Yulee Lee - Pastor of Children’s Ministry (Suburban Campus)

Yulee joined NCPC’s staff as Pastor of Children’s Ministry at the Suburban campus in April 2007. Yulee’s calling into ministry came in college where she devoted her life to serve God’s people and guide them into loving relationships with Christ. After receiving her calling, she has been leading children of all ages in Bible studies, discipleship, youth camps, and Sunday schools. She desires to see a ministry that embraces children with God’s love, equips them with biblical truths, and encourages them to share God’s love with others. Yulee is thankful for the two precious men in her life, her husband, Dave, who she’s been married to since 2003, and their son, Dylan. Yulee enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves indulging in all forms of creative art whether that is painting or ballet!

Jessica Leigh - Minister of Counseling and Women’s Discipleship (Chicago Campus)

Jessica joined NCPC as Minister of Counseling and Women’s Discipleship in February 2007. Her passion is to help God’s people learn to recognize the voice of the Shepherd and live by His commands, entering into a deeper relationship with Him. Jessica became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1994. As she was learning to trust and depend on God, He led her to return to school to finish her undergraduate degree and then receive a Masters Degree in Social Work. She worked as a school social worker at Chicago Public Schools for 8½ years prior to joining the NCPC staff. Jessica enjoys intimate conversations with family and friends, painting, camping, hiking, snow skiing and cultural experiences abroad. Jessica has one daughter in college.
