Senior Pastor: Pastor Brad Paik

Pastor BradPastor Brad Paik is the Senior Pastor of New Community Presbyterian Church. Serving at NCPC since its inception in 1998, Pastor Brad works primarily with young professionals and college/graduate students who reside in or near the downtown Chicago area. He earned his Masters of Divinity degree at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.

One of Pastor Brad's passions is to counsel and help people resolve personal background issues, including the philosophical dilemma that exists with the clashing world-views. He is also passionate about evangelizing to the un-churched through compassion and apologetics.

Prior to serving at NCPC, Pastor Brad served as the Youth Pastor at Elmhurst Korean Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst, IL. He and his wife, Sue, currently reside on the north side of Chicago.

 

Executive Pastor: Pastor John Sung

Pastor John

Pastor John Sung serves as Executive Pastor and has been on staff at NCPC since February of 2002.  As Executive Pastor, he oversees the Discipleship Committee and the general operations of the church.  He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in 1994. After his undergraduate studies, he received the conviction and calling to go to Minnesota for ministry, where he spent 7½ years ministering in second generation Korean-American churches before coming to NCPC.  While at NCPC, he continued his education and received his Master's of Divinity Degree at the Moody Graduate School in 2007.

Pastor John is married to Roni and has a daughter, Kara.  As a family, they welcome the opportunity to serve in a church where God's blessing of grace is so evident and are encouraged by what God has chosen to do in and through this ministry. They are very excited to be part of NCPC’s continued growth and development as their heart is to see the church grow to become the biblically functioning community that God has intended.  In this, they consider themselves blessed as they partner with all the members of NCPC in the furthering of God's kingdom.

 

Pastor of Community (Chicago): Pastor Chad Pirotte

Pastor Chad PirotteChad Pirotte has been Pastor of Community at New Community Presbyterian Church since 2003. His passion is to see the depths of God’s grace revealed to people as their hearts, souls, and minds are made alive by the Scriptures. Pastor Chad specifically sees great potential in NCPC’s community groups (Cell groups, Women’s and Men’s ministries) and has a desire to see these ministries strengthened as they continue to mold both individuals and groups.

Pastor Chad completed his bachelor degree at Kansas State University. While studying there, he was involved with the Navigators, gaining diverse experience with Bible studies, personal discipleship, and evangelism. He has also worked with youth in both American and Korean American settings. Chad recently completed his Masters in Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Pastor Chad always finds joy when he is reflectively thinking through the consequences of philosophies, theologies, and current trends in the church. In addition, Pastor Chad loves the outdoors, sports, and good spirited competition. Although he joyfully concurs with his ministerial calling to serve NCPC, he believes the congregation will also minister to him with wisdom that endures all seasons of life!

 

Pastor of Community (Suburbs): Frank Cho

Frank Cho

Frank has been the worship director since September of 2003. In May of 2000, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Mathematics. Upon graduation, he worked in the finance department at Midas International until the fall of 2007. He oversees the Worship Committee at the Suburban campus of NCPC. He currently attends the Moody Bible Institute on a part-time basis in pursuit of a Masters in Divinity.

Frank has been married to his wife, Linda, since April of 2004. Linda taught at Murphy Elementary School in Chicago for 4 years. They just had a baby boy, Ethan, in March of 2007. He and his wife's favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

 

 

Minister of Worship (Chicago): Gloria Pirotte

Gloria PirotteGloria has served as a worship leader at NCPC since the fall of 2001, as Worship Team Coordinator since the summer of 2002, and as the Director of Worship since September 2004. She longs to see the community at NCPC worship in spirit and truth - not only on Sundays but also in the whole of their every day lives.

For her undergraduate education, Gloria attended Northwestern University where she majored in English Literature and Psychology. During this time, Gloria developed a great passion for people while serving with Campus Crusade for Christ. After graduating from Northwestern University, Gloria earned a Masters Degree in Education from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. She then spent a year in Xi’an, China, teaching English and sharing the Gospel with university students on campus. From there, God brought Gloria back to Chicago.

Aside from learning more about the one definite thing we'll be doing for all eternity - worshiping God - Glo loves just about all things music (going to concerts, playing her guitar, finding new artists, writing music, etc.), hanging out and watching movies with friends.

 

Pastor of Children's Ministry (Chicago): Andrea Kier

Andrea KierAndrea served NCPC’s Children’s Ministry as an intern for two years before joining staff June of 2009. She graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in May 2009 with a degree in Evangelism and Discipleship. Andrea is a native country-girl being raised in the small town of Grand Ledge Michigan. Her desire to study at the Moody Bible Institute is what brought her to the great city of Chicago!

It is Andrea’s vision to see the children of the church be brought up knowing and loving the truth of God and His life transforming Word, also to train them to be the future leaders of the Church. She believes this can be done through creative Bible teaching, loving with Christ’s love, involving the kids in serving the body of Christ, showing the kids that living for God is fun, and by building a network of volunteers, teachers and parents to pour into the lives of children to influence them for the Kingdom of God.

Besides loving kids Andrea enjoys meeting new people, hanging out with friends, spending time with family, watching movies, swimming, and being spontaneous!

 

Pastor of Children's Ministry (Suburbs): Yulee Lee

Yulee Lee

Yulee joined NCPC's staff as Director of Children's Ministry at the Suburban campus in April 2007. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Tufts University and a Masters in Public Policy degree from the University of Chicago where she concentrated on Child & Family Policy. Yulee had previously worked for the City of Chicago's Office of Violence Prevention, and was a manager at the American Academy of Pediatrics' Division of Children with Special Needs before following her calling to serve children and families at NCPC.

Yulee's calling into ministry came in college where she devoted her life to serve God's people and guide them into loving relationships with Christ. After receiving her calling, she has been leading children of all ages in Bible studies, discipleship, youth camps, and Sunday schools, which confirmed that her specific calling was in children's ministry. She desires to see a ministry that embraces children with God's love, equips them with biblical truths, and encourages them to share God's love with others.

Yulee has been married to David Lee since June 2003. Yulee and David have one son, Dylan, who was born in December 2004. Yulee enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves indulging in all forms of creative art whether that is painting or ballet!

 

Minister of Counseling & Women's Discipleship: Jessica Leigh

Jessica LeighJessica joined NCPC as a Minister of Counseling and Women’s Discipleship in February 2007. Her passion is to help God’s people learn to recognize the voice of the Shepherd and live by His commands, entering into a deeper relationship with Him.

Jessica became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1994. As she was learning to trust and depend on God, He led her to return to school to finish her undergraduate degree at North Eastern Illinois University and receive a Masters Degree at University of Illinois at Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work. She worked as a school social worker at Chicago Public Schools for 8½ years prior to joining the NCPC staff. Jessica has served in child and youth ministries, discipled groups of young women, led a prayer ministry and facilitated a Christian book club before coming to NCPC.

Jessica enjoys intimate conversations with family and friends, painting, camping, hiking, snow skiing and cultural experiences abroad. Jessica has one daughter in college.
