WELCOME TO SUBURBAN CAMPUS CHILDREN’S MINISTRY!
Children are special to NCPC! We recognize the importance of the spiritual growth and education of our children and strive to faithfully and creatively teach the Gospel each Sunday.
OUR VISION
The Children’s Ministry vision is to partner with the parents at NCPC in the spiritual development of their children by building a ministry where the life-changing truth of Scripture is taught and practiced.
Our goals are to help children learn about God and His great love for them and build a firm foundation for faith by:
- Developing trusting relationships
- Practicing social skills which reflect Christian values
- Participating in simple worship through prayer and songs
- Hearing and dramatizing Bible stories
- Growing in competence and self-esteem
- Expressing creativity
We recognize that young children are active learners who need plenty of opportunities to play together and explore God’s creation in a safe, nurturing environment. That is why we provide an exceptional adult-child ratio so that all of our children can participate in an optimal learning environment where they can feel safe and where each child’s individual needs can be met.
SUNDAY PROGRAM
Middle School & Upper Elementary
Every Sunday at 9:30 AM, the Middle School (Grades 6-8) and Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5) children and teachers begin their morning in the sanctuary in corporate praise. Teachers then lead the children to separate classrooms where age and/or gender specific Bible lessons are taught and discussed. Your child will have the opportunity to dissect the Gospel and learn how to apply the lessons at home. All children are given memory verses each week and also participate in serving opportunities after each Sunday’s class.
Lower Elementary & Preschool
Preschoolers (2.5-5 years) and Lower Elementary children (K-2nd Grade) gather together in a large group setting for an exciting time of age-appropriate praise & worship and an interactive activity related to the Bible lesson of the day. Your child will then participate in a small group setting where teachers introduce the week’s Bible lesson and prepare interactive arts & crafts for the children to take home along with a “daily doings” sheet that will document what they have learned in class and how you can integrate the Bible lessons at home. Parents of our preschoolers are given pager numbers and will be paged if needed by your child.
Toddlers & Babies
Your toddlers and babies are also involved in age-appropriate play, Bible lesson and song in our Nursery (Birth-1 year) / Toddlers Room (1- 2.5 years). This room is staffed every Sunday with loving friends from our congregation so that parents can have the option to participate in the worship service. Parents of our toddlers and babies are given pager numbers and will be paged if needed by your child.
