Growth
Since its start, the “backbone” of NCPC has been its commitment to follow Jesus Christ as his disciples. We believe that this life of discipleship is worked out in the life of the community that is centered on God's love and grace. As we share God's grace with one another, we strengthen and encourage one another to grow, thus growing the Church. Below are key components we believe are pertinent to growth:
Worship
Worship is central in the life of the church. Our Sunday corporate worship is designed for NCPC to bear witness to the work God is doing in our lives. As we worship together with genuine hearts, we believe God's presence and power will be experienced by all who gather together.
Community
The life of the community is the full expression of God's grace upon which our church is founded. Through community groups and various group activities, we find the opportunity to serve and love one another as God has commanded in the Bible. As we pursue to be an authentic and genuine community, we hope people will be able to come as they are which is the first steps to growth.
Discipleship/Membership
Discipleship is the primary driving force, or the “motor” by which the church runs. NCPC disciples believers through membership. Through membership, we discover who we are in our strengths, weaknesses, passions, and gifts. We learn how we are to pursue holiness and we are held accountable so we experience the fullness of God's grace and its transforming power. We learn how to discern God's will and purpose in our lives and the life of the church. And in this we learn to follow and obey God.
Evangelism
The Church was not made to be static in this world, but rather to impact it by revealing the fullness of God and his glory. The mark of true discipleship in a church is the movement to send people to where they have been called to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We encourage our members to invite their unbelieving friends, coworkers, and family to hear and experience the gospel of Christ through our community. We send short term mission teams so our members can gain a greater vision for this world. We send full time missionaries and partner with other missions agencies so that they can do the work effectively as they have been called.
